Homework October 1st

Science 7-Today we had a work period. Project is due after the long weekend (October 13th). Math 8E1 -no class today due to assenbly Science 8-Work passed back to be signed by parents.-E1 and E2 have their test tomorrow. 8L has their test Monday.

Homework Sept 30th

1$ for Terry Fox walk Thursday. Friday we will be walking to the food bank. Math 8E1-test were sent home to be signed.-We worked on order of operations. This is a skill that will need to be practiced. Students will have homework over the next few nights. Science 7E1 7E2-A list of terms students need to know for the test was given. Test will be the week of October 19th.-Pojects are due as soon as we return from thanksgiving. Tomorrow is a work period. Do no leave this too the last minute. Student enhancement time may be used to work on the poject. Science 8E1 and 8L-We took notes on the organelle's in a cell.-I showed examples of past work by students for our cell project we will be starting next class. It will be due the last week of october.

Homework Sept 29th

Math 8E1-Marks were given out. Test will be returned tomorrow to be signed by parent/guardian.-We started PEDMAS today to assess prior knowledge. Science 8E1-Test Friday on microscope and characteristics of living organisms. Science 8E2-Test Friday on microscope and characteristics of living organisms.-Cell project was introduced with examples from previous years shown to students. More detailled info to follow. -Students should read page 21, 27, 28, 29 and 31 of their text to build vocabulary in French for our class discussions.-Handout of cell structures was given. See notes below. Science 8L-Lab sheets were completed today.-Test on the microscope and characteristics of living organisms will be Monday.-Students should read page 21, 27, 28, 29 and 31 of their text to build vocabulary in French for our class discussions. Science 7L-We took some notes.-Students were given a sheet that lists all the French scientific words that they need to know for their first test. They should be checking their understanding and studying these words at home.-Project due end of next week. Next two classes are work periods.

Homework September 25th

Math 8E1-Test module 2 part A-Assignments passed back marked. Science 8L-We were in the lab today learning how to use microscopes. Grade 8 are learning how to use a microscope. We used our ipod's and phones to take a few pictures of what we were seeing. More will be posted as I get them.

Science 7 are busy learning about ecosystems. Students picked an animal to research. As we discussed new terms students applied it to their chosen animal. Students are learning about the interactions between biotic and abiotic organismes. Projects will continue to be presented all this week.

Homework September 24th

Bring food for the food bank. :) Math 8E1-test Monday-Assignments will be passed back tomorrow. Science 8E1 and 8E2-We were in the lab today learning how to use the microscopes. Some students used their phones to take photos of their specimens. If you email them to me I will post them for the class and parents to see. Great work by our Red grade 8 students! Science 7-Today we learnt about food chaines and food webs. Students are to complete their food web at home. 10 minutes was given in class to start this activity(Question 4 and 5).-notes posted below.

Homework September 23rd

Math 8E1-P. 83 Q 4,6,9,10 (no medels)-Today was a review class. (notes will not load to website).-test Monday. Science 7E1 and 7E2-Research for project should be done for next class. Students should now be working on the ecosystem box and their presentation. Please use simple sentences that are in your own words. I can assist with the translation if needed. Come see me to book a time for extra help.-We will be working on the project over the next two weeks. Rubrics of how it will be marked will be posted next class. Science 7L- Today we did an activity to build some French vocabulary around animals and plants so that we can more easily give examples of our scientific terms. -We still have two weeks to work on our project. Remember that I can assist you in translating for your speach. Come see me during student enhancement if you would like this help.

Math 8 E1 · Today we did a review of addition and subtraction of integers using models. (grade7 material) · We practiced some division of integers questions.
