I will not be at school tomorrow.  I will be in Fredericton receiving by Master in Education from UNB. It is nice to be finished.  My research was in the area of teaching Math and Science to French Second Language learners.  I am looking forward to putting it all to good use this year!  :)   Math 7L1 and 7L2 -We continued to work on division of decimals.  Students need to review multiplication facts. -Notes below.  Q 7 and 8 for homework -I have attached the worksheet below that students will get tomorrow in class.   Science 7L2 -We reviewed the water cycle today.  It is an example of recycling.   Students should be able to define the process and the terms involved for the test. (end of unit) -Students also worked on their science literacy skills today.  They read passages from the text (chapter 2) to find answers for their crosswords.  We will review all the terms next class.  This does not need to be completed before next class but students should practice their reading comprehension by using the text to review.  Students should complete the terms they know for next class.   Science 8E1 -Students learned about mitosis today.  We viewed two videos.  The second showed real examples of cells undergoing mitoses.  -Students are to complete the worksheet for their study notes. -Test are corrected but will not be passed back until everyone writes.  Students may see me for their mark.

Science 8 -test next class   Science 7L2 -We went over 2 cycles today.  Students are to complete definitions for homework.  Notes below.   Math 7l1 and 7L2 -Q 9 and 10 -notes below.

Science 8E1 -Today we had a great class in the lab.  Students were asked to create the same results in two bottles.  We had good discussions about what variables influenced our yeast.  This info will be used in our next lab. -Lab sheet is due next class. -Test 1 is October 23rd.   Science 8E2 -Lab sheet is due next class -Test Tuesday on all material seen this year.   Science 7L1 -We reviewed > today.  We also talked about cycles that we see.  (water , oxygen...)  -Students are to complete their water cycle drawing in their notebooks by defining the new terms.   Science 7L2 -no class today   Math 7L1 and 7L2 -We went over homework today. Multiplying decimals was introduced.   As part of our class activity we watched some you-tube tutorials and discussed  our thoughts/opinions about this method of instruction.  It was interesting to hear the students opinions.  We started modeling with base 10 blocks.   NO HOMEWORK tonight as we did not have time to finish the demonstrations.

Math 7L -We started adding and subtracting decimals today (section 3.3) - P.98 Q1, 3  p. 98 Q 5   Science 8L et Science 8E2 -Test 1 Oct. 22 -Finish sheet -Lab next class.  Remember we need empty water bottles for the lab.   Science 7L -sign test

Science 8E1 and 8E2 -Finish the first side of cellule en action -Today we worked on making a hypothesis and on making observations.  Hypothesis should be > statements.  Observations should be descriptive and quantatative.   Math 7L1 and 7L2 -We reviewed fractions to decimals, decimals to fractions, repeating decimals.  We also worked on ordering fractions using a number line. -Worksheet given last Thursday will be due Wednesday.  Time was given in class to work on it.  More time will be given tomorrow to work on the assignment.   Science 7L1 -Test tomorrow.  Students use use their study guide and notes to review.   Science 7L2 -Test will be wednesday as  discussed Friday.  We did not have a class today.
