In science 8E2 8E1 and 8L1 we used our knowledge and skills to build boats.   The task was to build a boat to float as many pennies as possible.   The winners of the day were Alex Leslie and Liam Richardson with a boat that would float 39 pennies.    Last year’s record was 32.   Great work grade 8...

Math 8L ·         Tomorrow students will write their March benchmarks.   This is an in-class assignment that counts.   It contains questions from all areas covered this year.      ·         Students will have their Algebra test Wednesday.  This covers sections 6.1 to 6.5 inclusive.   This completes curriculum outcome PR2 ·         Below is a general review of material covered to date.   Each slide indicates the outcome the question is testing.   This is a good review for the benchmark assignment. ·         Attached is an Algebra review (in English) for those students working with a tutor at home.   The answers are at the end of the file so that you may check your work.   A good way to review for the test Wednesday.

Math 8L-Test on sections 6.1 to 6.5 Wednesday of next week.-Homework is to finish the questions from text in section 6.5 (see notes below) Science 8L2-Test tomorrow on science literacy and density.   Review sheet was given today.  This sheet along with the table worksheet should be reviewed for the test.

Report cards were sent home today.   Please sign and return the envelop.  Parent teacher will be Thursday evening and Friday morning. Math 8L-Students are to complete questions from section 6.4 of their text on the distributative property. Science 8E1 and 8E2-Today we reviewed for our next test.   -Test next class.  (Skill Focus on reading a table to find key information.)

Math 8L-Today we reviewed our algebra unit to date.  We also went further into our PR2 outcome of algebra to learn how the distributive property can help us to expand algebraic expressions.   Notes and examples posted below.-no homework for the weeken.   Suggested questions for practice are suggested in the notes below. Science 8-Today we reviewed the theory and calculations around density.   We did some practical work with the material we have been learning in math.  (algebra and ratios)-We also worked on developing our science literacy skills.  We practiced reading information from tables.  -We also worked on developing stronger conclusion statements by using our data in our statement.-notes below.

Math 8L-March operations sheet was handed out today.  This will be due next Wednesday. Science 8-Lab sheet on density is due next class.  If you were absent today you will need to make up his important lab next class.

Math 8L-Students who have done the review booklet, and attended extra help, may write a rewrite of module 5 tomorrow.-Homework is to finish questions from section 6.2.  See notes attached below Science 8-Notes on density are attached below.-Students need 2 pencils and an object from home for next class.  We will be calculating the density of our pencil and object.-duotang of marked and signed work is to be on the cart for this Friday.
