Field Trip to Camp Sheldrake

Things to Bring to Camp Sheldrake Friday June 13th 2014 Ø Water bottle (freeze ½ way so that it is cold) Ø Bagged lunch Ø Lots of snacks Ø Sun screen Ø Bug repellent Ø Wear your sneakers Ø Clothes for physical activity Ø A change of clothes (including socks and foot wear) Ø Sunglasses/ball cap Ø We will be going to Camp Sheldrake on Friday regardless of weather. Dress for the weather. Please note that all school rules are in effect for the field trip. It is advisable to leave electronic devices at home as there will be no place to store them while we are there. This includes iphones and ipods.

Homework June 4th

Math 7L-I have started to meet with students to review their progress this year.-NO HOMEWORK TONIGHT!!!!-I will be collected text books tomorrow. Science 7L-I will be collecting text books tomorrow. Science 8-District assessment tomorrow. I will let students know what their marks are by Monday or Tuesday of next week. This is a skills assessment. Field trip forms for boat trip and camp Sheldrak are due back Friday. I will be contacting parent shaperones early next week with information.

Homework

Math assessment is Tuesday and Wednesday. Students need a calculator and math set. Science 8 assessment will be written in class next week. Students need to take their time and read the questions.

Homework May 28th

New dates for the science 8 assessment. We will start writing MONDAY. Math 7L-Continue working on practice questions at home so that our class time can be spent going over the more difficult questions. -I am posting a link to an english video that explains rotations.(some students asked for this). Homework May 27th

Math 7L-Practice exam should be completed for class tomorrow. We will spend the class going over the answers.-A year review booklet was passed out today. Students can use this to help them assess where they need to study for the assessment. It is broken down into strands. We will be working on this Thursday to Monday in class. It is best if students have tried the questions before hand. This way we can spend more time on the questions that are giving them some difficulty. Science 7L-a booklet was passed out that we will be finishing next week. Science 8E1 and 8E2-continue to work on crossword.

Homework May 20th

Math 7l2-Question 1 and 2 for circle diagrams are due next class-We will be having a mental math quiz and review each class for the next two weeks. Students should be reviewing the strategies at home each night. Math 7L1-We started circle diagrams today using percent circles. Students are to complete Q 1 p. 163 for homework.-We will have a mental math review/quiz at the start of each class followed by a talk alloud to review the concepts each day this week. Student should review the strategies each night at home. Science 7l2-test Science 7L1-We started our notes for chapter 10. In this unit we will be working on our science literacy skills. Students will be reading scientific passages to gain information and make conclusions. The unit test will be open book. Students will also work on note taking and organization skills during this unit to prepair them for this assessment. Science 8E1 and 8E2-Students were given and update of their grades for term three. Science 8 district assessment dates8l June 5th and June 11th8E1 June 9th and June 10th8E2 June 9th and June 10th

Math 7L-re-write tomorrow. -7L2 started circle graphs today. Q 1 for homework. Science 8E1 and 8L-Lab form due next class.-duotang of signed work due next class (8L is overdue - any students who did not pass it in today need to pass it in tomorrow.)

May 12th homework

Math 7L1 and 7L2-test/inclass assignment was passed back today. Students are to complete corrections for tomorrow's class. Students may do a re-write on Thursday to improve there grade. Remember to write your formulas, show your work and write your units in your final answer. Sicence 7L1-Thursday test on second part of heat unit. Science 7L2-Test on second part of heat unit will be two classes from today. We will review as a class tomorrow and the following class will be the test. (WARNING: we have a play Friday and it may fall during our science class.) Science 8L-A lot of work was passed back today.
