Harkins Lady Blues played three tense games on Wednesday and came away with a third place medal at the District Jamboree at Dr. Losier Middle School.  After losing to Nelson with an upsetting 1-0 score, Harkins came back and beat both Blackville and EWG to make it to medal standings.

Harkins Middle School is considered a Nut Safe School.  We want to make our school safe for students who have severe peanut and nut allergies.  Please pack lunches that are nut-free and avoid bringing anything with nuts to eat for snacks.  We should all have the opportunity to be healthy and happy at school.  Harkins Cares!

Harkins Cares:  The Green Team's initiative to collect pop tabs for charity has resulted in a 46 pound donation!  Miss Breau and Max might have to make more than one trip to deliver this hefty load.  Way to go Harkins!  The Green Team will continue their collection and they encourage you to save the pop tops from your canned drinks.

The Terry Fox National School Run Day on Friday, September 25th was well received by students and staff of Harkins Middle School.  Classes found innovative ways to raise funds that will help fight cancer.  In some classes, each student brought in a donation, while other classes sold popsicles afterschool.  There was even a draw for a giant Teddy Bear, won by Rorie on the Orange Team.  Over 600 dollars was raised and students ended the event by walking around the track.  As the slogan for this day reads,
