There will be two performances of HMS Drama Club's "A Zany Christmas Showcase of Skits and Talent."  One performance will be 1:15pm on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17th and the second performance will be DECEMBER 18th at 1:15pm.   Also, all drama students will practice this Wednesday, December 9th from 3-4:30. Dress Rehearsal will be Monday and Wednesday, December 14th and 16th, from 3-4:30.  There may be an additional practice Sunday based on the success of Wednesday's practice.  Thanks to for your patience and hope to see you all at the show!

Mrs Malley will be starting up the HMS Annual Animal Shelter Campaign for 2009 this week and it will run until Friday, December 11th.  The animals at the shelter are mostly in need of the following items:  canned cat and dog food and cleaning supplies.  The Animal Shelter would also appreciate donations of blankets, treats, clean towels and monetary ($) donations as well.  You can help an animal in need this Christmas by donating to this worthwhile cause!  See Mrs Malley for further details.

 Harkins students, dressed in red and white, had Olympic fever this Friday, as the Olympic Torch passed through Miramichi.  Some students were able to see the torch in downtown Newcastle, while others were bused to JMH to take in the show and see the lighting of the torch there.  Please check out the latest photo gallery for some pictures of this event. http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/torch-relay-celebration-jmh-2009

Attention Students, Teachers, Parents and Community, Harkins Middle School Drama Club is pleased to present to you “A Zany Christmas Showcase of Skits and Talent” offered in two day performances on Friday, December 18th.  Students, staff, parents and community are invited to attend either the morning or afternoon show, presented on the last Friday before Christmas Break in the Harkins Middle School gymnasium.  Specific show times will be announced closer to the date.  A donation to the Food Bank would be appreciated as admission to the show.  Hope to see you there!

On Friday December 4th, the Red and Purple teams will travel to NBCC Miramichi to take part in a Family Violence Awareness Event hosted by Miramichi Family Violence Prevention Network. Miss Miousse's grade 6 students are participating in a Christmas charity program called GIFTS of MAGIC.  You too can provide crucial aid to children living in areas affected by poverty, conflict or natural disaster. Miss Miousse suggests that students approach a parent, a relative, or a friend who usually gives them a gift at Christmas, and ask them to instead, give the value money of the gift so we can, in return, send it to UNICEF to provide life-changing gifts to children around the world.  Some students have even already volunteered to take money from their own savings.  Nevertheless, keep
