HMS will be having their Terry Fox Walk Thursday September 29th in the afternoon. We are asking all students and staff to donate $1.00 to help towards this fundraiser. Thank you!

All picture envelops are due on Wednesday September 28th, please fill out the information on the form and send money or cheque with envelop to your son/daughter's homeroom teacher by Wednesday September 28th. If parents/guardians want their child to have retakes, please return the envelop with RETAKE indicated on the front of the envelop. Thank you!

HMS will once again be participating in the local radio station 95.9 Sun FM food drive for our local food bank. HMS staff, students and parents have been very generous with their contributions towards this very important cause. We will love to see another successfully Food Drive as it will be our last at HMS. On October 5th in the afternoon the whole Red Team (students and teachers) will be walking down to the radio station to deliver our donations. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact any member of the Red Team.

  • All of the grade 6, 7 and 8 students on the Red Team ( French Immersion) will again be participating in the local radio station's Food Drive. We are asking students to please bring in non-perishable food donations to their homeroom teacher. During the afternoon of October 5th, we will walk the donations down and present them to the radio station. In previous years we have had a hugely successfuly campaign and we hope this year will be our biggest as it will be our last at HMS. 
  • All tickets sold or unsold must be returned Immediately...due date was today September 26th.
  • Picture envelops have gone home yesterday, if you would like to order school pictures please fill out envelop and return to homeroom teacher by Wednesday September 28th, 2016, if you would like your child to have a retake, please write RETAKE on the envelop and return to homeroom teacher. 
  • HMS will be having our last Terryx Fox Walk Thursday September 29th in the afternoon, we are asking any student who wishes to participate to bring in $1.00 to their homeroom teacher on or before Thursday. Thank you for your support.

  • They have received their first booklet of the year " La rentrée", the completed booklet is due Tuesday October 11th. This booklet is not meant to be done all in one day/evening. Students have been explained they should work on it 10-15 minutes each night as a review of vocabulary words. Each activity has been explained and a few examples have been done with them for their understanding. They are permitted to use their dictionary for any words they don't understand or ask the teacher for extra help.
  • Finish both reading comprehensions " Le Match" and " Le Jour de Congé" for tomorrow. We will be correct the work tomorrow in class.

Students have been explained they should work on it 10-15 minutes each night as a review of vocabulary words.   • Students were given 12 spelling words to study this week, they will have their first spelling quiz Monday October 3rd. The students should be practising their words both orally and written. We have worked together on using them in sentences, students should have this in their binder up to #8, some students were asked to re-write their words and sentences as they had not followed instruction. I will be checking for their re-written work tomorrow.

  • September book orders (Scholastic) went home last week. Order forms and money/cheque (payable to Scholastic) are due on Monday September 26th, 2016 ( Ms. Richardson)

All homeroom classes on the Red Team ( grade 6, 7 and 8 French Immersion) will be participating in the local radio station's food drive which occurs each year right before Thanksgiving. On the afternoon of October 5th, the Red Team teachers will walk the students down to deliver their donations directly to the radio station. We have always had a very successful campaign and this year we are hoping for it to be our best as it's HMS last one.
