- All of the grade 6, 7 and 8 students on the Red Team ( French Immersion) will again be participating in the local radio station's Food Drive. We are asking students to please bring in non-perishable food donations to their homeroom teacher. During the afternoon of October 5th, we will walk the donations down and present them to the radio station. In previous years we have had a hugely successfuly campaign and we hope this year will be our biggest as it will be our last at HMS.
- Students have received 1 or more booklet of tickets to try and sell for our school fundraiser. Each booklet has 20 tickets and they are each $2, this fundraiser helps to lower cost for all clubs, sports, activities offered at HMS. There are wonderful prices to be won by top sellers and random draws for all students who sell 1 booklet or more. All tickets and money (sold or unsold) have to be returned by September 26th, 2016.
- September book orders (Scholastic) went home last week. Order forms and money/cheque (payable to Scholastic) are due on Monday September 26th, 2016 ( Ms. Richardson)
- Picture envelops have gone home yesterday, if you would like to order school pictures please fill out envelop and return to homeroom teacher by Wednesday September 28th, 2016, if you would like your child to have a retake, please write RETAKE on the envelop and return to homeroom teacher.
Français 6E (ealy immersion)
- They have received their first booklet of the year " La rentrée", the completed booklet is due Tuesday October 11th. This booklet is not meant to be done all in one day/evening. Students have been explained they should work on it 10-15 minutes each night as a review of vocabulary words. Each activity has been explained and a few examples have been done with them for their understanding. They are permitted to use their dictionary for any words they don't understand or ask the teacher for extra help.
