This is a very busy time in all LA classes as we are working to finish up our writer's workshop in time for the first report card.    7A- 15 mins reading.  Reading Journal 3 is due on Friday, Nov. 6.  The prompt is on the questioning strategy that we are working on in class.  There is a teacher and a student sample attached on the Homework from Oct. 30.  Their final persuasive piece is due on Wednesday, Nov. 4.  This is a major assignment and the homework policy located on p. 5 will apply.  Prompt- Choose one of the questions you asked.  Try to answer the question by making predictions about the book.  Use evidence from the book to support your answer.  SS- a re-write is available for our Democracy test this Friday, Nov. 6 during Student Enhancement. 7/8B- 15 mins. reading. Their final persuasive piece is due on Tuesday, Nov. 3.  This is a major assignment and the homework policy located on p. 5 will apply. SS- get SS democracy test signed.  A re-write is available this Friday, Nov. 6 during Student Enhancement. 8E2- 15 mins. reading.  Get RJ 1 & 2 signed.  Reading Journal 3 is due this Friday, Nov. 6. The prompt is on the questioning strategy that we are working on in class.  There is a teacher and a student sample attached on the Oct. 30 homework post below.  Their final memoir is due on Wednesday, Nov. 4.  This is a major assignment and the homework policy located on p. 5 will apply.  8A- SS- a re-write is available for our Democracy test this Friday, Nov. 6 during Student Enhancement.

7A- 15 mins. reading.  Work on editing your persuasive piece- draft 2 should be done for tomorrow.  Final copies are due on Nov. 4.7/8B- Reading Joural 3 is due on Friday.  This prompt is based on the questioning strategy.  There is a teacher sample attached.  Work on editing and revising your persuasive piece (most students are finished their second draft).  Final copies are due on Nov. 3.8A- Test tomorrow.  Notes are attached as well as worksheet 3.28E2- Work on editing and revising memoirs.  Most students are moving on to draft 2.  Final copies will be due Nov. 3.

7A, 7/8B, and 8A will be going on a field trip to the Fish Hatchery on Monday, Oct. 26.  Please make sure you dress warmly and wear appropriate footwear.  We will be leaving first thing in the morning, so please be on time on Monday.  We will be back to the scholl around 11:15. Homework:7A- Work on your persuasive pieces.  We are at the editing and revising stage.  Final, typed copies will be due on Nov. 4.7/8B- get your RJ 2 signed.  Work on your persuasive pieces.  We are at the editing and revising stage.  Final, typed copies will be due on Nov. 3.8A- Your SS test has been delayed due to the field trip and soccer jamboree on Tuesday.  Your test will now be on WEDNESDAY, OCT. 28.  Please also have your SS duotangs organized to hand in on that day.  8E2- Please continue to work on editing and revising your memoir.  Final copies will likely be due on Nov. 2 or 3 (depends on how next week goes).

7A SS- There will be a test on Friday, Oct. 23 on the notes that we took in class yesterday (attached).  A written reflection on student bote is due on Wednesday, Oct. 21.   LA- 15 mins. reading.  Get RJ 1 signed.  Make sure persuasive piece 2 is written for Monday (most students are finished).Reading Journal 2 is due on Tuesday, Oct. 20.  This weeks prompt is a repeat of their first journal:  Making Connections: text to self, text to text, text to world.  Does this book remind you of another book that you have read in the past? Does it remind you of something you have experienced in real life? 7A- 15 mins. reading.  Finish brainstorming, persuasion map, and first two paragraphs of topic 1 for persuasive workshop.7/8B- 15 mins. reading and get RJ 1 signed (it was returned to students today).8E2- 15 mins. reading.  Reading journal 1 is due on Tuesday, Oct. 6.  The prompt is to discuss in detail at least two connections you made while reading.  They can be text-to-text, text-to-self, or text-to-world.  Entries must be at least a 1/2 page long and be written in proper sentence and paragraph form.  Please see the teacher sample attached on Wednesday if needed.   HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND :)
