8L2- May 228A- May 25One theme that we have discussed and noted in our shared reading of The Cage is the theme of the Jewish prisoners being treated or referred to as animals by their Nazi captors.  In this week's reading journal I want you to focus in on this theme.  You can start by providing me with at least two examples from the text.  You can quote these examples directly.  Next, I want to hear your thoughts/reaction to this.  Why do you think the Nazi's treated the Jewish people this way?  How do you think both parties felt about this?  Make sure you really slow down and show me your thinking/connections here.  Remember, you only have this RJ and one more to do for me!!  Give me all you've got!!

8L2- due on Monday, Mar. 308A- due on Tuesday, Mar. 31 Reading journal 9 is due next week In this week’s reading journal we would like you to focus on the Leaning In strategy.  When you are reading, stop at a descriptive scene and lean in.  What do you see?  What do the characters look like?  Where are they?  What details do you picture in the setting?  These are things that the author likely does not mention, but that you visualize in your mind’s eye as you read. In a second paragraph tell us how these inferences that you’ve made give meaning to the story. Date:Title:Author:
