Homeroom 7A: Notice went home concerning "Class Potluck" next week. Please read the sheet carefully and return the bottom portion. 7A and B: Math assessment will be Tuesday December 16th. We are reviewing on a daily basis. Students should be working on Mathletics 2 to 3 night per week for no less than 15 minutes. Each lesson has a tutorial and a video tutorial to demonstrate the skill presented.  8A: Math Assessment will be Monday the 15th of December. We are reviewing daily. Homeroom: Social this Friday. This is not a dress up social just a regular dance. 7A and B: We continue to review concepts to get prepared for the District Bencmark Assessment next week. As well we are working on Decimals and Fractions. Students can practice converting from a decimal to a fractions and knowing the difference between a terminating and repeating decimal. 8A: We continue to review concepts to get prepared for the District Bencmark Assessment next week. Homeroom: Students went skating today.  Newsletters went home.  7A and B - Math: We have started review for the Math District Assessment that will be written the week of December 14th. We are also working on our Fraction, Decimal, and Whole Number unit.  8A - Math: We have started review for the Math District Assessment that will be written the week of December 14th. We Also are working on our Pythagorean Theorem Unit. P. 34 # 4, 5 and 6 should be completed ALL MATH STUDENTS SHOULD BE WORKING ON MATHLETICS NO LESS THAN 2 TIMES PER WEEK FOR 20 MINUTES. THIS IS PART OF THEIR ASSIGNMENT MARK FOR TERM 2.

Students in 7/8B and 8A played "Integer War" in class today. This was an amusing format for learning away from the old paper nd pencil routine. This was also great way for them to use their math reasoning skills while also reviewing integer concepts. Please check out the photos in the gallery! 8A MATH: We will begin our new unit on Pythagorean Theorem tomorrow as we get closer to the district benchmark assessment.Students should be working 2 nights a week or more on their mathletics accounts to work on NB curriculum outcomes we already covered to date.7 MATH: We are starting our Fractions, Decimals, and Fractions unit tomorrow.  7A, 7/8B, and 8A will be going on a field trip to the Fish Hatchery on Monday, Oct. 26.  Please make sure you dress warmly and wear appropriate footwear.  We will be leaving first thing in the morning, so please be on time on Monday.  We will be back to the school around 11:15. 8A - a practice sheet for equations and tables should be completed for Monday7A and B - p.27 #1   p. 28 #2, 4 and 5P.29 #2, 4, 5, 8

Tuesday October 20th

Homeroom: Some PLP's are in agendas. Please look for a brown envelope to be reviewed, signed and returned. Grade 7 Math: All classes started a new unit on Expressions, tables and graphs, Chapter 1 in the textbook. Homework is an expression sheet and #10 p.19 in the textbook. Homework will be checked tomorrow. Test #2 needs to be signed Grade 8: . Started new unit on table of values and graphing. Sheet and p.356 #4, 5 and 6 need to be completed. Test #2 needs to be signed.

Homeroom: Book order forms have gone home. Please return by October 7th. 7A and B - Review sheets went home that need to be completed for Monday's class. It is a review for the test on Tuesday. A note explaining changes to dates of the retest and final test are attached to the review sheets. Homeroom: - Picture envelopes due back if you would like to order them or have retakes.- NB Health has sent out immunization information home. All students have them in their agendas. Please fill in the required information and return them on Monday - Cafeteria menus went home today in agendas- ALL TICKET MONEY IS TO BE RETURNED ALONG WITH UNSOLD TICKETS ON MONDAY! Please send them in along with a note if you want them reissued on Monday. This is our big fundraiser so please try and sell your book! 7A and B - finished test on adding and subtracting integers today. We will begin divisibility rules on Monday. Please note that as we progress through the year we will continue to revisit concepts taught and they will continually be tested on these concepts as well. 8A - We finished up with the test on multiplying integers. On Monday we will begin with dividing integers with and without models.Please note that as we progress through the year we will continue to revisit concepts taught and they will continually be tested on these concepts as well.

Welcome to a new school year! 7A Homeroom: Information sheets went home to be signed and returned. Still missing a few.Some students have not brought in their kleenex boxes (2) please do so as soon as you are able to.Student Fees are $20 ~ please send this in with your child if you have not done so already.Gas Fundraising tickets should be sent back as soon as possible with your child so they can get in on the daily prizes this week. 7A and B Math: Students should finish their title page and Integers Word Bank Search. Students received their outlines. 8A Math: Students have received their outlines, worked on title page and Integers Word Bank Search

Homework for December 9th -11th

All LA - All students should be reading no less than 15 mins each night           - Christmas projects should be passed in Friday           - Remembrance Day Packets must be signed and returned   BOOK ORDERS for December need to be in by this WEDS DEC 11th in order to have them back before Christmas. Parents can order a surprise for their child for Christmas from the book order. Just send in or drop off the money and order in an envelope and specify it is a gift.   ANY old blankets, towels, cleaning supplies or cat and dog food can also be sent in this week!    PLEASE NOTE: Songs are due this Friday, Dec.13th. Some students have requested to record in a classroom without students. The Computer labs were booked so that all students would have sufficient time to complete. I have told all classes I am available this Tues, Weds, Thurs all lunch hour and Tues, Weds, Thurs at student enhancment or any day afterschool except Thurs. Students can also record at home using the program Audacity (free and safe download)
