  • Scholastic book orders for the month of January have gone home, all orders and payments must be in by Monday January 25th, 2016. 
  •  Purple Team will be skating on Friday January 22nd, 2016 from 10:20 (first bussing leaving school at 10:15) until 11:40. Parents are more then welcome to accompany us and skate with their son/daughter. Students are required to have helmets.
  • We would like to congratulate Brody Hallihan for being Student of the Month for December. Brody is a very dedicated student working to his full potential and always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow peers. Way to go Brody!
  • We would like to congratulatefor Lilly Trevors and Sam Johnson for being Students of the Week for January11th-15th, 2016. Great work last week :-)

  • 6L- Finir (finish) p.18 pour vendredi le 22 janvier, 2016. Student have worked on this activitiy sheet for 1 1/2 periods in class and it must be completed by Friday. Students should also be working on their draft of p. 17 ( They need to choose 4 out of the 7 sections of the Canadien Charter of Rights and Freedoms) and create posters for each one. 
  • 6E1 & 6E2: Students chose groups today to complete their final assignments for this unit (in lieu of a quiz). Students will receive class time to work on this assignment, final presentations will be held the week of January 25th-29th.

There will be activities and questions relating to this unit in the next two weeks done in class instead of a quiz. However, it's very important students understand and are still looking over their notes to be able to complete these smaller assignments. 
  • Students should be looking at The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms ( see weblinks) to read up on it.
  • Students have also been asked to discuss with parents and family members the following questions : 1. What is a protest? 2. Why would people protest? 3. What is the difference between a peaceful protest and one which is not deemed peaceful. ***Students have also been asked to research different protests which have been held in our history.

Jorja is in the late immersion program and she works to her full potential everyday, she can be observed using the oral language, asking questions and helping others, we our very proud of everything she has accomplished so far. We need them back ASAP as we need to draw for the basket (draw date is tomorrow Tuesday December 15th), we need to give the winners a few days to come in and collect their prizes before HMS closes for the holidays.Team potluck notice: ***** If there is no school tomorrow Tuesday December 15th (due to inclement weather) our team potluck will be rescheduled to Wednesday December 16th...... All tickets sold or unsold must be returned by Monday December 14th, as they draw will be Tuesday December 15th. All tickets sold or unsold must be returned by Monday December 14th, as they draw will be Tuesday December 15th. We have two prizes, 1st prize: Basket valued at over $250 and 2nd prize: Elle diamond pendant necklace donated by Siddall's Jewelry valued at $79.00.  Thank you everyone for your gracious donations, without all your support we would not be able to have this fundraiser!Team potluck notice: Every student has received a yellow potluck notice, please fill out and return by Thursday December 10th, 2015.  ********I have not received all the forms back, please e-mail me or send back yellow form by tomorrow Friday December 11th. Thank youSkating: Purple Team will be skating Friday December 11th, 2015. First bus run will be leaving at 10:15 (second immediately following), we will be skating until 11:35 ( first return bus will be at 11:40, and second immediately after).Please note students are to have skates and helmet to come to the rink (parents/guardians may bring their child's equipment directly to the rink if they would like).Also, students should be able to tie their own skates, please practices this at home with them. We have 65 students on the team and only 3 teachers to supervise on and off the ice. Parents are always welcome to join us at the rink to skate with their son/daughter :-)We would like to congratulate Jorja Lavoie for being Student of the Month for November on the Purple Team! Jorja is in the late immersion program and she works to her full potential everyday, she can be observed using the oral language, asking questions and helping others, we our very proud of everything she has accomplished so far.
