New and returning students: Welcome back to Harkins Middle School!
What a WEBtastic First Week it has been!
WEB Leaders welcomed the new HMS 6th graders this week with much energy and enthusiasm. Students learned about each other, the school and even themselves. During activities, lead by the blue shirted grade 8 WEB leaders, grade 6ers picked up some valuable strategies on how to succeed in middle school. WE'RE GLAD TO HAVE YOU AT HARKINS MIDDLE SCHOOL...WE'RE FRIENDLY HERE!
Here’s wishing you a restful summer! Take time to relax and maybe try something new. Remember, Tuesday September 6th is the first day back for GRADE 6 ONLY. We’ll see everyone on Wednesday, September 7th. Also, the school supply lists for each team is listed under ‘Latest Documents’ in the left column of this website. Best Wishes :)
Harkins’ incomparable Mlle Astrid Miousse retires this June. Words cannot describe how Mlle Miousse has influenced our lives and our education over the years. She will be deeply missed by staff and students, but we wish her well as she deservingly pursues other interests in retirement.

Harkins Middle School’s Angel Hair Campaign would like to thank the following lovely ladies who had their ponytails snipped to donate to Angel Hair For Kids: Lauren H; Robin D; Robyn S; Darrah C; Emily R; Mrs Mitchell.
Our goal this year was to raise some money and we wanted to send off as many ponytails as we could along with the cash. We are happy to announce that we have raised $143 and 6 donations of hair.
At this year's HMS Awards ceremony, we were able to recognize outstanding student achievement in varying domains. Congratulations to all those who were acknowledged for their efforts. Below is a list of the main awards and their respective student recipients for 2011.
