Our boys basketball team took home the district championship! They defeated Nelson in the semi 44 -14 and then defeated Losier 63-25 in the final. The overall record for the team is 14 wins and 1 loss.WAY TO GO HMS!
Our school is having a Scholastic BOOK FAIR on February 14, 15, 16 from 8:30 -4:00pm (Tues.,Wed.,Thurs.). It’s an event, NOT to be missed! So please join us and help us fill our library with new books and resources. Just follow the arrows in the main floor hallway down to our library. Students will fill out ballots to deposit at the Fair and someone will win $25.00 in books and $25.00 in books for his classroom teacher. The HMS varsity girls basketball team won the Dr.Losier middle school tournament this weekend. They were undefeated all weekend, and they defeated Dr.Losier in the final by a score of 39-32. They are bringing back a nice banner to hang at our school! WAY TO GO GIRLS!
We have the opportunity to help people in Haiti who are still recovering from the devastating earthquake that hit almost two years ago. We are asking for donations of toiletry items (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.) to make toiletry kits that will be sent to Haiti for the adult workers at an orphanage. Time is running out...we need these items by Friday, December 16th. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
A French Second Language Public Consultation will be held for parents/ guardians who wish partake in an organized discussion re: this topic, on Wednesday, December 14th, from 6:30 PM – 8:00PM, in the gymnasium of St. Andrews Elementary, 77 Chatham Avenue, Miramichi .This is a sponsored activity of the Provincial Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
