On the Purple Team, as part of our Electricity Unit in Science, Cross-Curricular project and focus on Earth Day, we will have a “No Technology Day” on Tuesday, April 19th.  We challenge any other HMS students or classes to take part! On Monday, students will keep a record of the technology and electricity that they use during a typical day (see attached template...use it if you like!). Monday night, students will plan alternatives to the technology/electricity that they use during a typical day, to help inform their participation in Tuesday’s “No Technology Day”.

In a letter to Harkins Middle School, the SPCA wrote: We would like to thank the students and staff for raising money for us and the donations you have given us.  The money was used to get cats Daphne, Ebony and Ziggy spayed.  Cats Kito and Hunter were neutered as well.  Thanks to your school, 4 of these cats have found loving homes too!  Ziggy is still waiting.   Thanks again,Miramichi SPCA Branch   See the corresponding photo gallery:  http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/hms-helps-spca-cats
