The Harkins Drama Club and The Yellow Exploratory Team will be hosting a Spring social this Friday night from 6-8:30pm. The DJ will be Drew Hunter and a canteen will be available and a photo booth too. $5 at the door. Come dance up a storm and celebrate the new beginnings of Spring!
Harkins Middle School (HMS) will be holding their 2014 Heritage Fair on Thursday, April 24th. This event provides a cross curricular opportunity for our entire school to learn more about our communities i.e. local, provincial, national. As many as 26 student projects will be on display for viewing by judges, school staff, students, and participants’ family. Judging will take place from 9am to 12noon followed by viewing of projects by HMS students and staff from 1pm to 2:50pm.
Harkins Middle School received an ArtsSmarts grant that allowed grade 7 Red Team students to participate in creative inquiry regarding our community’s heritage and culture. ArtsSmarts is about teachers and artists working together with student to explore relevant issues through curriculum based artistic engagement.
