The grade 8 (only) end of the year social will take place tonight from 7-10pm. Much Music video screens and DJ will be there as well as a canteen. Cost $8. Dresscode and school rules apply. See you there grade 8s!
Grade 8 students are having a bottle recycling day this Saturday at 10 am. If anybody has bottle to give, they can drop them of at school and we will store them. Students are raising funds for the Mount Allison Trip, happening in a few weeks.
Harkins was able to exceed the goal put forth by Ms Stewart and we raised over $1300 for Cancer and Lymphoma Research. Way to go Harkins! Students were rewarded with each new increment of money raised. Ms Mercier received a pie in the face, Ms Stewart and Ms Barrieau did a dance, Ms Miousse was taped to the wall, Zach Adams dyed his hair white and Mr Haché dyed his hair blue! (See photo gallery)

On the morning of Wednesday, May 19th we will take Harkins students to MVHS to see the play. Blue team students who wish to see the play should go Tuesday night as you will be away Wednesday morning to Brookdales.

Maggie Kingston participated in the Miramichi Partners in Literacy Spelling Bee Saturday, May 8, 2010 and placed 1st runner up for the grade 6-8 group. Robin Travis came in 2nd in the French Oratory Competition held in Moncton on May 1st. Maggie Kingston won the District #16 section of the Immunization poster contest.
Last week Harkins Middle School rocked the NBTA Provincial Drama Festival with a full house, 9am performance, Tuesday in the Blackbox Theatre, Fredericton. The students had a great time see plays, attending a workshop, showcase, social and recognition ceremony. Stay tuned for updates on our public performance- happening soon!

The winner of our Mother's Day Basket for Drama and Angel Hair for Kids was Nathan Allison.
Combined, drama students raised $533 towards their trip to festival and monies raised for Angel Hair for Kids total $1183.88. This is the most successful Mother's Day Basket to date!
