- Read 15-20 minutes (collect sparks with sticky notes while reading).- Journal entry is due on Friday (Please use your rubric to make sure you have covered everything.) Remember, I am not looking for you to tell me about what is happening in your book. I am looking for you to tell me how you feel about what has happened in your book. What can you infer when you read between the lines? What has happened that now connects with the beginning of the book to help you make predictions? Has something surprised you or changed the way you thought about something or someone in your book? This is the deeper thinking that I am looking for in your journals. I can't wait to see what you all are thinking! Have fun!Mrs. Gregan

Read 15 minutes nightly and find a spark.   *** Remember the sparks you are collecting will aid you in writing your journal entry which is now due on Monday, Dec. 14th. *** Your journal entry is written in your connection/lift section of your Notebook Know How (where you were writing lifts before). It should be 1/2-1 page for grade six and 3/4-1 page in length for grade seven. Your spark/sparks should be stuck to the entry along the margin or at the top.   *** Your journal entry should reflect insightful thinking. You need to show you have a deep understanding of the book rather then provide a simple retell. Show your audience your emotions and feelings, let us know what personal connection you had with the book at that moment. I look forward to reading each and every one of your entries.   Good luck!
