The Green Ribbon Club is up and running and recycling bottles on Mondays and paper on Wednesdays. Remember to drop bottles and paper into the appropriate bins in your classroom. Members are asked to check the schedule outside of Ms Barrieau's classroom.

The Gr. 7 Literacy assessment will be written on Monday, Oct. 17 & Tuesday, Oct. 18. Please make sure you are in attendance those days and well rested. Good luck!
On October 5th, 2011 Harkins Middle School (HMS) Grade 7 Green Team students and staff visited Gimnasio Campestre K to 11 school in Bogotá, Colombia – that is, using SKYPE! The HMS Green Team was joined in Miramichi by Juan Antonio, Principal for this all boys school and by Carolina Ferro in Bogotá, a teacher at Gimnasio Campestre.
On September 28th, Harkins Middle School (HMS) students and staff walked and ran the track at the Memorial Field as part of the 2011 Terry Fox School Fun Run. Over 300 people were in motion as a symbol of their support for the Terry Fox Foundation and their search for cures of cancer. Many footsteps were taken on this Wednesday afternoon. However, the real race came during the two weeks leading up to this planned annual event.
The Blue Team will host the back to school dance this Friday, September 23rd from 6-8:30pm.

Wednesday, September 28th is Harkins Middle School 2011 Terry Fox National School Run Day!
In 2010 Harkins Middle raised $880 for the Terry Fox Foundation and its funding of cancer research in Canada.
In the next two weeks, please support the Terry Fox fundraising activities that will be held by Harkins teams. Through your fundraising contributions and participation in our Terry Fox Run Day, we can remember and support Canadians living with cancer.
