So we've been learning about the scientific method in science. We have completed a few labs as a class but now you are going to pick your own project (a pre-planned one is ok here) to practice using the scientific method! You can use this site to help narrow down some topics. Remember this is a short-term project that is not necessarily your STEM fair project (but maybe you can expand this project later?). Let's get messy!

Students will be participating in the 2016 Hour of Code this week! Why? "Computer science is foundational. Every 21st-century student should have the opportunity to learn how to create technology. Computer science is changing every industry on the planet. The basics of computer science also help nurture creativity and problemsolving skills, and prepare students for any future career" (https://hourofcode.com/files/hoc-one-pager-canada.pdf)
Over the next 10 years, there will be over 1.4 million jobs in computer science with only about 400,000 graduates qualifying for those jobs.... a shortage of about 1 million people...

1. You will be assigned to an 'expert' group on one of six body systems. You and approximately 5 other students will be responsible for becoming an 'expert' on that body system.
2. Go to: http://edtech2.boisestate.edu/brockhalladay/502/jigsaw.html to view your assignment.
3. You will gather again as an 'expert' group on your system to review what you have learned and to make sure everyone has enough information to take back to their 'jigsaw' group.
4. Together with your jigsaw group, you are to create a presentation of your choosing, to teach the class about the 6 systems of the body that you learned about.
You will be assessed individually on: Interactions, Independence, Organization, Responsibility, Initiative and Knowledge
Your presentation could be a video, powerpoint, oral presentation with posters, skit, gameshow etc. Be Creative!
