The Green Ribbon Club invites ANY STUDENT interested in creating sleeping mats for Haiti to come to Ms Barrieau's room on Wednesday at 11:55am.  We are also asking students and teachers to collect the blue or red plastic outer-most bags used for milk (see photo).  You may place these bags in the paper recycling bins in your classroom.  See you Wednesday! :)

Students in the Miramichi area have an opportunity to enjoy a professional presentation of an 18th century musical and admission is free! Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Miramichi Chapter, is hosting a performance of Mozart’s opera Cosi fan Tutte this Saturday, November 17th at 7:30 pm at Carrefour Beausoleil. The presentation is touring the Maritimes and Eastern Quebec with a cast of six young professional Canadian singers. The opera is described as light and delightful and although written in the late 1700’s this production has a 1960’s staging.

Harkins Middle School held their annual Remembrance Day Ceremony on Friday morning, November 9th.  Highlights of the event included the debut of the choir, the appearance our cadets, guides and scouts in uniform and most importantly the veterans in attendance.  Please see the corresponding photo gallery: http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/remembrance-day-ceremony-2012Lest we forget!

In a Red Team fundraiser yesterday, the Miramichi Timberwolves took on the HMS varsity girls and boys basketball team.  The entire school was invited to attend the game and cheer on the teams.  The game was complete with a half-time show by the HMS cheerleaders and a foul shot shoot-out.  Much fun was had by all!  See photos here:

Dear Parents and Community Members:Science East and Harkins Middle School are hosting an event called ILLUMINATE: Shedding Light on STEM careers on Thursday, November 8th and we would love your help!We would like the students to meet as many people from the “working community” as possible so that we might provide them with an idea of possible science, technology, engineering, and math related career paths and skills they will need in life.

JV Girls Soccer Jamboree will be held at Nelson Rural School. Monday October 29th from 9:00am to 4:30pm.  You must arrange your own drive to and from the school.  Dress warm, bring lots of water, some snacks & your lunch.  An on-site canteen will be available.
