Up for a Challenge? Logo Design Needed!The JMH Alumni Association is looking for an artist 13 to 18 years old to design an event logo for our Dr. Keating 5 Mile Race. The logo that is chosen will be used for all of the race’s marketing, which includes the logo appearing on all t-shirts.The DeetsRace participants have the choice of walking or running the 5 miles (8 km), which will start on the JMH High School grounds, run through Retirement Miramichi, and will end on the finish-line of the JMH Track!
In addition to our boys claiming the district champioship,the girls varsity and junior varsity teams have also earned district victories! The varsity girls won in a finals against Dr Losier last week.In this past weekend's action: The JV Girls Basketball team beat NSER with a score of 75-24. Player of the game was Madison Matchett and hustler of the game was Britney Somers. In the gold medal game, Harkins defeated Nelson with a score of 60-53. Player of the game was Leigha Durette and hustler of the game was Jessie Mahoney. Tournament MVP was Leigha Durette, with top scorers Jessie Mahone

The Grade 8 WEB Leaders have organized a Valentine’s Spirit Week for February 11th -15th. Homeroom classes will face off for a chance to win the coveted HMS Golden Sneaker Award. The Challenges are as follows:• Monday, February 11th: Wear a Heart Day!
In basketball finals last week, our HMS boys took the Miramichi Tier I Championship in a final nail-biting game against Nelson, winning 37-36. Way to go HMS boys!
The Miramichi Rotary Pond Hockey Tournament will take place this Friday and Saturday at French Fort Cove. In anticipation of this great community fundraiser, all HMS students and staff are encouraged to wear a hockey jersey to school on Friday. Our HMS girls varsity basketball team won the Harry Miller bball tournament on the weekend! They won the following games against:Quispamsis: 47-32Bliss Carmen: 43-31River Valley: 58-22Riverview: 38-34The hosts, Harry Miller, in the finals: 38-205 tough games in 2 days!The girls have won a banner to hang in the gym. Way to go girls!The JV Girls also had an excellent weekend at the Riverview Royals Invitational Basketball Tournament. Players of the game included: Leigha D; Madison M; Hayley S.
