Calling all book lovers! Harkins will be holding a Literacy Night on Tuesday, Jan. 26th from 6-7. Bring a novel and leave it at our Swap table then take another's favorite book home! There will be door prizes, student readings, book talks, reader's theatre performances and a "Teacher's Book Favorites Matching Game". Come and enjoy!
There's always something interesting going on at Harkins Middle. This week, sign-ups started for the new and improved HMS Tech Club now known as "The STEM Cell"! Mrs. Hamilton and Ms. Waye have been working hard to get the new Makerspace up and running and can't wait to get the students creating, engineering, tinkering and making!
Harkins is actively seeking donations of MP3 players to be used for audio books. If you have one you would like to donate please call the school- 627-4088. Thank you!
Tomorrow morning we will be serving hot breakfast to all students and staff starting at 8:30. Pancakes, sausage and hash-browns are on the menu as well as juice.

In the afternoon we will have a variety show which should get underway around 1:20. Below are the dress code challenges for our Holiday Spirit Week next week. Homerooms will face off to earn the coveted Golden Sneaker Award, currently held by 6E1, Ms Richardson's class. There is also a door decorating contest to add to this week's challenge. Good luck to all!
