The Glee Club has been invited by the director of the Miramichi Music Festival to perform one of their songs in the "Showcase of Talent" this year. The Showcase of Talent is a collection of memorable entries from the entire festival.
If you're interested in coming out to watch and give your support, the Showcase of Talent is being held at Carrefour Beausoleil this Thursday (May 5th). The show starts at 6:30 PM, with the Glee Club opening the show.
A HUGE congratulations goes out to the Glee Club who competed in the Miramichi Music Festival today and received a STRONG GOLD!They gave an absolutely superb performance and did a fantastic job representing Harkins Middle School. Way to go!

On Friday April 8th the Blue Team took part in the MVHS Fly Tying Expo. Students were enriched in the 'how-to's of tie flies, fishing safety, casting, knot tying and they also visited many of the business exhibits. The Department of Ground Search and Rescue also presented a video on woods safety and protection.
Grade 8 Red Team students are having a fundraiser this Saturday, April 23rd from 12:00-4:00 pm at Atlantic Superstore (408 King George Hwy). Students will help pack groceries to raise money for their end of year field trip to Mount Allison University. We hope to see you there!
Today, April 15th, is the Day of Silence. The 27 student members of the Gay Straight Alliance at HMS, as well as two teacher-mentors, are participating in this student-led campaign that seeks to raise awareness about the silencing effect of LGBTQ bullying. Students are pledging to remain silent all day, and are challenging others to think about the voices we often DON'T hear in society. You can read more about the campaign at www.dayofsilence.org.
