Home performance Monday, May 14th, 9am & 10:20am (for students) and 6:30 pm (for public, $5 at door) all at the MVHS theatre.  Last week Harkins Middle School performed their play at the NB Provincial Drama Festival to a full house, 10:15am performance, Tuesday in the Blackbox.  The students had a great time see plays, attending a workshops, showcases, social and recognition ceremony.  Way to go Harkins!  Stay tuned for updates on our public performance- happening soon!  Here is a list of the awards we came away with:

The HMS drama club will leave for STU, Fredericton on Monday and return Wednesday night.  They will perform their play "The Princess King" on Tuesday morning at 10:15 in the blackbox theatre.  They will also take in other plays, professional workshops, and participate in a social, a talent show and an awards ceremony.  Good luck drama students!Winner of the HMS drama club mother's day basket is Raylene Keating!  Congratulations Raylene!  Photos found here:    http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/hms-drama-princess-king

The Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to accept film entries for the second annual Kin Film Festival.  All School District 16 students are invited to participate.  Films can be submitted in one of two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category (The Communities Greatest Need).  The top 10 films in each category will be screened on May 12th, 2012 at Miramichi Empire Studio 5.  Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for the winners in each category.

Students have arrived and settled in with their host families in Bordeaux, France.  After nearly 20 hours of travel, they will relax, sleep and then be on the go again tomorrow!  Students will tour the school tomorrow morning, take in some classes, have lunch and then visit the castle in Montesquieu.  Very exciting!http://dt16community.nbed.nb.ca/blogs/bluesnewsonline/

During the next 3 weeks, Harkins Middle School will be raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.  Our goal is to raise $400.00!Here is how you can help:1. Put you spare change in the white container in your classroom2. Take a small coin box home so family and friends can make donations too. 3. Bracelets will be on sale during lunch time for $1.00.
