Grade 8 Red Art Exploratory students are encouraged to bring their own digital cameras to class for their photography unit.  This will allow students to perfect their skills on a camera that they can continue to use after the unit is finished.

Terrance Stanley "Terry" Fox, was a Canadian humanitarian, athlete, and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he embarked on a cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research.    Thursday, September 27th is Harkins Middle School 2012 Terry Fox National School Run Day!   In 2011 Harkins Middle raised close to $2000 for the Terry Fox Foundation and its funding of cancer research in Canada.       During the next 5 days, please support the Terry Fox fundraising activities that will be held by Harkins teams.  Through your fundraising contributions and participation in our Terry Fox Run Day, we can remember and support Canadians living with cancer.    This year, let’s beat our 2011 donation and be proud knowing that Harkins Middle School is taking part in helping find cures for cancer.
