1) Several of my classroom novels are missing! Could you please check at home and send them back. 2) We will have an author visiting our school on May 6th. Eric Walters will be here. I have assigned my students the task of reading at least one of his novels and doing a book report. These must be completed before he arrives. ****Remember the following due dates: - Make book selection by Feb. 22 - Have novel read by April 5 - Presentations begin April 15 3) Could you check with your child to see if he/she has pencils, pens, paper, erasers, etc…? It seems that some students never have what they need to work with. Being prepared for class is a requirement.

Grade 8B Students Parents, My Grade 8B students are reading novels for the next 3 or 4 weeks. They have been assigned groups according to their choice of novel. All students have chapters assigned to have read by given dates which are listed in their Duotangs. As well, they have been assigned different roles to perform when they meet with their groups for discussion. Some students are not participating as they should! All students should be reading their novels and preparing for the next discussion at least three nights a week. All need to participate. Please check with your son or daughter to see that they are prepared for the next class. This novel study will be a major portion of their mark for the next report, and participation will count for 40% of the novel study mark.

I have a classroom library where students may borrow books. Right now I have many books missing! Most of these books are my own personal property. They do not belong to the school, and if lost, I have to pay to replace them. Could you please check your lockers and at home and return any of my books as soon as possible. They are often part of a series and someone is waiting to have a chance to read the next book.
