Hi Amy,
Tomorrow after school I am meeting with the manager at the hotel to sign a room block verification sheet. After that there shouldn't be any problems and I have been assured that the $129 rate is what you will get. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused either you or the parents of your players.
I will email you tomorrow after I meet with the manager tomorrow to verify with you that everything has been rectified.
On Saturday, we have parents who are making homemade chili, corn chowder and chicken noodle soup that will be sold from the canteen to provide an economical lunch for parents and students wishing to remain on site. We will also have Powerade, fresh popcorn and other items available at the canteen on Friday and Saturday.

Hi Amy,
I called the Residence Inn
today and spoke to our parent that got the initial quote. I have a
call in to the hotel manager to clarify this misunderstanding and the
clerk at the hotel suggested that the rooms still be booked at the $149
rate to reserve them, have them tagged by the reservation clerk as
rooms for the Bessborough Basketball Tournament, and then when I speak
to the manager on Monday, adjustments can be made to the reservation.
The explanation that I
received was that as the hotel fills, the rates gradually increase.
There are two hockey tournaments in town next week, so rooms are
starting to fill. Where we were quoted and guaranteed a rate of $129,
I will do everything I can to make sure that your players/parents get
that rate.

Message from Bessborough Tournament Organizer:
Hello Everyone,
Once again thank you very much for your enrollment in our 50th anniversary tournament. Below you will find a tentative schedule. Some times may have to be adjusted after I have referee allocations confirmed by the referee coordinator. Please review the schedule and if there are any problems please email me asap so that we can make necessary changes and inform all teams within a reasonable period of time to make alternate travel arrrangements. Further details regarding the pizza party, tournament rules and other information will be sent with a finalized schedule Monday.
We will be playing 4 eight minute quarters. I have built in some catch-up time in the event that games run late; however, if possible I would like teams to be on site 15 minutes before the game so that if necessary and agreed to by both teams we can start immediately following the conclusion of the previous game. Canteen facilities will be available on site with fresh popcorn, Powerade and other items available. We will also be having a silent auction both Friday night and Saturday that is open to anyone participating in the tournament as well as any family members or fans on site. Prizes include hotel rooms, restaurant gift certificates, zoo passes and other prizes.

PARENTS AND PLAYERS,
THIS WEEK:
Great Game last night Lady Blues! Remember that Thursday we play NSER at home at 4:30pm. Please be at the gym for 4pm. On this Sunday, we will play at 10:45am against Jacquet River and at 12:00 noon we will play the Mini Tommies.
NEXT WEEK:
Tuesday, February 9th we will play Dr Losier 2 at Harkins. We will practice Thursday afterschool 3-4:30pm.
***We will participate in the Bessborough Basketball Tournament in Moncton on Friday and Saturday, February 12th and 13th. We will have one game on Friday night and two games Saturday. Once the schedule is sent to me, I will post it on here. The organizers are looking at having a pizza party on Friday night for all teams.
We will be staying at the Residence Inn (4 and a 1/2 star hotel), who are offering rooms with kitchenettes, free continental breakfast with hot dishes, and an indoor pool for $129 a night. These rooms are normally $200 plus taxes. The Residence Inn is located in Downtown Moncton, about 8-10 minutes from our school, and 2-3 minutes from Champlain Place. When you call to book a room, you must mention that you're in town for the Bessborough Basketball Tournament to receive the discounted rate. JAMBOREE:
The Jamboree will be reschedule for after March Break. More info will be sent to you when I get it.
