I would like to give a welcome to all the grade six students and espicially the BLUE TEAM!  I will have each and everyone of you for Math, Science, and Social Studies.  We are just getting started with organization of books and lockers. Science we will be starting off with "Variety of Life".  Social Studies we are getting to know yourself and where you belong in society and how culture affects the things you do.  I am starting off Math with some topic refreshers.  Some of these will be done in small groups and indivdual assignments, to be completed both in and out of class.  Please check for my initials in the appropriate subject area when homework is assigned.  Look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you better as the year goes on!  "Never settle for less than your BEST!" by Brian Tracy and "Doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment." by Oprah Winfrey, explains to a  T what I expect of each and everyone of you this year.  Mrs. Blakely-Doucette

Well, its that time of year again and the students are beginning to work on Science Projects.  Each student was given a packet with ideas for Science Projects and were asked to either pick a topic off the sheets or give me another idea they had for a project.  They are all responsible to give me their choice by Friday, March 1st. They are allowed to work in groups of 2 or on their own.  Students will need to work on their project at home over the break.  They need to have their projects ready to present in class by March 20th.  We will have some class time to work on these the week after the break.  The presentation needs to be on posterboard. Have fun and let Science be your guide!

Hello! Hello! Hello! Blue Team!  For the next period of time in Science we will be exploring the electrifying world of Electricity!  Through notes, videos, experiments, labs and maybe even some guest speakers, we will energize ourselves into the world of electrons!  Parents are to be advised that there are safety tips noted throughout this unit.    In Math the Blue Team is taking on Angles!  In this unit we will be investigating angles and polygons.  Each student will be using a protractor for any and all work completed both at school and at home.  Each student was equiped with a flexible protractor to be stored in their text book for both at home and in school use.  All students will be trained on how to use this important mathematical tool.  So, before you shut the front door, stop and ask yourself, "Is that angle acute, obtuse, right, straight, or could it possibly be a reflex?"
