Hello everyone,

I trust you all had a great March break and got plenty of rest and relaxation!

We are now well into March and spring is on it's way. It sure is a nice pick me up knowing that winter is almost done.

Below is the homework for this week. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding these assignments.

 

Grade 6-

- Read nightly (collect sparks)

- Finish persuasive writing organizer (only jot down notes not the whole writing piece)

- Finish reading purposal ( Write the details of your book and your expected date for your book talk on the handout provided in class.)

 

Grade 7

- Finish reading Cowboys Don't Cry (Do chapter questions for Chapters 16-20.)

- Finish your reading purposal and hand it in on Friday. (Write the details on the handout provided in class.)

- Have your graphic organizer for your persuasive writing piece filled in for Friday. (This was also handed out in class.)

Hello everyone I sure hope you enjoyed your weekend and are all rested up for another great week!

There are lots of fun things happening this week: Monday sleigh ride, Wednesday Pink shirt day and Friday skating at 10:15 am.

Below is the homework for this coming week.

Grade 6:

-Read and find sparks

-Worksheet for persuasive writing with an example of 3 appeals is due on Friday

 

Grade 7:

-Read Cowboys Don't Cry to chapter 15

- Do the comprehension questions for chapters 14 and 15

Hi everyone here is this weeks homework.

Gr 6

- Read and find sparks

-Don't forget to come out tomorrow night from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm and celebrate the wonderful poetry booklets you all worked so hard on. We will be meeting in the common room

Gr 7

-Read chapters 8, 9 and 10 in Cowboys Don't Cry (Don't forget your sparks!)

- Do a journl entry for those same chapters.

Hi everyone,

I sure hope you had a great weekend. We have a great week in store poetry wise. We will be finishing up this unit and then we will be moving on to persuasive writing.

Grade 6

-Read and find sparks nightly

-Be prepared to read your poems in class and show off the fantastic work you did on your poetry booklets.

- Journal entries are due on Friday (Remeber they must not be a retell and you need to show  me some thoughtful writing that matches the passage that you have chosen.

 

Grade 7

-Read and find sparks nightly

- Your Poetry Analysis is due and be prepared to show off your great analytical skills when you present in front of the class this week.

- Journal entries for chapters 5&6 of Cowboys Don't Cry is due on Friday

Grade 6

- Read for 20 minutes each night find sparks (use stickies)

- Find 3 new words from your novels for Friday

 

Grade 7

- Read one chapter of Cowboys Don't Cry (write extra information for your stickies this week)

- Print a poem off the internet (if you haven't already done so in class). Start your analysis.

Hi everyone,

I hpe that you all have had a wonderful relaxing break with family and friends.

Here is the homework for this week.

Grade 6

- Use review sheet and figurative language sheet to study for L.A. test Friday.

- Article of the week (Bungee Jumping) is due on Friday

- The students who did not pass in their journal entry please do so Friday January 8th.

- Read nightly (20 - minutes) and collect stickies.

Grade 7

- Read 1 chapter of Cowboys Don't Cry (use stickies). Be prepared to give input into our discussion each day.

- Article of the week is due on Friday

- Journal entries that were not passed in the week before Christmas are also due on Friday Jan. 28th.

- Review your poetry handout to study theme, mood, tone etc.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well rested and ready to dig into the new term. *** Nov. 30 th will be the deadline for donations for our Christmas basket. We certainly do appreciate the support and hope that this fund raiser will be a huge success.
