PP8 Due Date Pushed to May 9th...

Posted: April 27, 2012

A special announcement from the Purple and Blue team:Yesterday, during No Technology Day, students on the Purple and Blue team avoided using technology and electricity all day long.  That meant no lights, microwaves, SMARTBoards, computers or video games!  It was a challenging day, but a successful one.  Students discovered interesting ways of avoiding technology use. They also picked up litter outside around the school, on the playground and on the baseball field.  Students categorized the litter into three groups, paper, plastic and garbage.  There were :235 pieces of paper or cardboard887 pieces of plastic waste1016 pieces of garbageIn total there were 2138 pieces of litter.Let’s do our part Harkins to lessen this waste.  Use the garbage can before going outside and keep our fair school green and clean!Learn more about our day and leave a comment at the blog:  http://dt16community.nbed.nb.ca/blogs/bluesnewsonline/Photogallery:  http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/no-technology-day-2012
