  • All homerooms will be participating in Halloween Spirit Week ( October 24th-October 31st), this is a fun way for the students to dress up and show their spirit. Each day, the number of students who participate in the "theme" for the day will be counted and added to the homeroom tally sheet, at the end of the week the homeroom with the highest % percentage of " Spirit" will win the covenant 'Golden Sneaker'. Here is the schedule of themes for the week:

  •  Get permission slip signed and returned with $2 for field trip to Carrefour Beausoleil....due Wednesday October 26th, 2016.

Français 6E (Early immersion)

    • *** Students are asked to bring in examples of things from their home which contain different materials ex: magazines, newspapers, printed item from the internt, video game box ext.... ( Doesn't matter if it's in English and doesn't have to be new).
    • Students have received their second booklet " L'Halloween", this is due on Monday November 14th. Students are only to be working on this 10-15 minutes per night, this is not meant to be completed all in one day. These booklets are nice little activities to help with reading comprehension, vocabulary etc...
    • Read each night, they will choose 1 or 2 books and read the same ones each night for 1 week, then they will change their books each week. It would be best practice to have them read out loud to someone. ***** I have started running records ( which is to evaluate their reading level) in French, once their reading level is established student's should be reading books only at their level. Running Records will be done 1-2 times per term, to identify the areas in which they need to work on with their reading and to see if their reading level has improved over each term.
    • Get quiz #3 spelling signed, and rewrite the words they got wrong 3 times.
    • Spelling Quiz #4 Monday October 31st  (study words and work on completing 1 sentence for each spelling word). Sentences are due on Monday October 31st (they have a week to complete this).

  • Get quiz #3 spelling signed, and rewrite the words they got wrong 3 times.
  • Spelling Quiz #4- Study words, quiz is next Monday October 24thth, 2016.

  • Study and practice the following verbes ( Présent Indicatif + Passé composé) 1. avoir 2. être 3. aller 4. faire. They will be receving pop quizzes throughout the year....they must know these 4 verbes inside and out!
  • Read each night, they will choose 1 or 2 books and read the same ones each night for 1 week, then they will change their books each week.     • Many students didn't have their booklets completed today, they received 1 month to complete this assignment. If booklet was incomplete they have lost -10% on their final mark and were in detention today at lunch to woork on their assignment.

We are asking students to please bring in non-perishable food donations to their homeroom teacher. During the afternoon of October 5th, we will walk the donations down and present them to the radio station. In previous years we have had a hugely successfuly campaign and we hope this year will be our biggest as it will be our last at HMS.
