April 26th

Math 8E1

-Today we wrote our algebra test

 

Science 7E1 7E2 7L

-Open book test tomorrow on chapter 7 and 8.  Students should organize their notes for the test.  We have  spent time learning how to pull important information out of a paragraph this unit.  We have also learnt how to read diagrams related to temperature.  Students should be able to explain dilatation and contraction and provide real life examples.

-Review of chapter 8 is posted below.

Homework April 19th

Science 7

-Today we learnt about contraction and dilation.   We took notes from the board and they are posted below.  We also watched a demonstration of dilation and contraction of metal.

-A work sheet was passed out to 7L and 7E2 for chapter 8

 

Math 8

-Test Thursday on algebra.

-Practice test worksheet is due tomorrow as we will be correcting it in class as a review.

HOmework April 18th

Math 8E1

-Today we worked on word problems using algebra. 

-Assignment is due Wednesday and test will be Thursday.

Science 7E1and 7E2

-Today we discussed how students should look for Key Words in deffinition.  We figured out what the key words were for temperature, kinetic energy and thermal energy.

-Answers were given to the worksheet.   Students will have a test next week on chapter 7 and 8.

Science 8E1 and 8L

-We reviewed the particle theory and density.  We spent time learning how to take the mass and volume of objects.  We will have one more class reviewing algebra and ratios so that we can do some calculations in the lab.  One more class and then 3 labs.   Students are starting to see how science uses the concepts they have learned in math this year to solve problems.

Homework April 15th

Math 8E1

-Today we worked on the distributive theory.   Students are to complete questions from the book for homework.

-A work sheet was handed out that will count for marks.  I will collect these sheets Tuesday in order to correct them and have them returned to study with for the test late next week.

Science 7L

-We learnt the term kinetic and thermal energy today.

-Homework is to sign the quiz that was passed back.

Science 8L and 8E2

-Students watched a video on buyancy today.

-Students also were given time to work on density problems.

-Remember to bring your object from home so that we can start doing some labs next week!

-Today we learnt about density.   We talked about how math is used in science and we began to look at some examples of algebra and ratios in science.

Homework April 13th

Math 8E1

-We continue to work on our unit 6 algebra.   Today we wrote a benchmark assessment to see if we have improved on outcomes since our december benchmark.

 

Science 8l

-We started to talk about density today.  Notes were handed out on paper and some were taken from the board (posted below).  We will be in the lab a lot next week working with density.  Students need to bring a small object to school next week for one of our labs.

 

Science 7E1

-Today we learnt how to use our senteo responders.  We did a small activity using them.

-We corrected our fill in the blank sheet.

 

Parents Work has been sent home in all classes.  It should be signed and returned in their duotang.
