Dear Parents and Community Members:Science East and Harkins Middle School are hosting an event called ILLUMINATE: Shedding Light on STEM careers on Thursday, November 8th and we would love your help!We would like the students to meet as many people from the “working community” as possible so that we might provide them with an idea of possible science, technology, engineering, and math related career paths and skills they will need in life. This is also a great opportunity to advertise your business.Saying “yes” to this great opportunity requires the following from you: An evening of your time on November 8th. (The event is open to the public between 6:30 – 8:00 pm). Set up a display that informs students about our job and some of its “tools/products” used. (The gym will be available from 5:00 – 6:30 pm for set-up.) An interactive part of your display that will engage the students. For example, a dentist could bring x-rays a mouth guard machine; a brick layer could bring some bricks and mortar, etc. The school’s population is approximately 377.If you are willing and able to help, please fill out the attached form and return it to Becky Geneau via email or fax to Science East by November 1st.
