The Gift of Writing

ALL CLASSES: We have been working on the gift of writing in class for 4-5 periods now.  By the end of this week, you should have 2-3 different pieces of writing complete (drafts) on memories of your choosing.  Next week we will take a couple of days in the computer lab to type up one final/good copy.  These final copies will be due Fri, Dec 16.

Social Studies Assignment # 2

ALL CLASSES: The SS assignment on the climate of Atlantic Canada is due on Fri, Dec 16.  You will be given some class time to work on it, but you are also expected to work on it outside of class time.

AR goal

Please get your AR goal signed ASAP.  This is an easy homework mark. As a reminder, if you are reading an AR book 30 mins per day, 5 days a week and keeping up with doing the quizzes, you will reach your AR goal.  It is meant to be achieved if you are doing the required reading. Term 2 just started, so let's make it a good one.  I would like EVERYONE to reach their AR goal this term :)

Reminder - End of the Term is this Friday

The end of the first term is Fri, Nov 18.  Your descriptive essay, which is due tomorrow, and your AR points will both be part of your report card mark.  So, please hand in your essay on time and be reading to get your AR points!

REMINDERS

ALL CLASSES: Your descriptive essay (5 paragraphs) is due on Tue, Nov 15.  We only have a class or two left before that deadline, so you can work on it at home as well.   The end of the term is Fri, Nov 18.  So, that is the due date for your AR point goal!  Please make sure you are reading.  This can be an easy 10% of your mark.

SSR Reminder

As a reminder, your AR point goal is meant to be attainable if you are doing 30 mins of SSR each day (5 times a week).  So, for example, if you are able to get 15 mins of SSR in at school, then 15 mins would also be required that night.   Your AR goal is not meant to be hard to reach.  It will only be reached though if you are keeping up with your reading!!
