You can make a difference for a child who has lost their hair as a result of Alopecia, Burns, Cancer chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
The Purple Team and Drama Club have made it an annual initiative to help Angel Hair for Kids.
Last year, we exceeded our goal of a $500 dollar donation and, through the help of school and community, we sent 7 locks of lovely human hair for wig making. Our total contribution over 2 years has been 15 ponytails. We also were able to purchase matching t-shirts for the Drama Club last year for their trip to the NBTA Provincial Drama Festival.
This year, we would like to again raise funds by means of a Mother’s Day Basket. We are asking each student (Purple Team and Drama Members) to bring one new item to help fill the basket. It could be anything from a gift certificate, soaps, towels, slippers, wrapped candy; anything under the theme of Mother’s Day!
We will be asking students to sell tickets on the basket and those who sell over 10 tickets (at 1 for $2 or 3 for $5) will have their name put in a draw for Empire Theatre bucks.
Also, we are looking for students, parents, or anyone that you know who has untreated (undyed) hair at least 10 inches in length. You still have time to grow your hair too! During the final school assembly in June, we will have professional hairdressers come and snip your ponytails in front of the student body. You will feel soo good knowing you offered something so easy to give to someone who needs it more.
Please have basket items donated by Thursday, April 14th , so we may begin making the basket. Tickets will be sent home this week. We are lucky to have such a caring group of parents and students and we appreciate your support!

PS- Please note that this is a joint fundraiser. Drama Students have the option to sell tickets on the basket and ½ the proceeds that they raise go towards their trip to the NBTA Provincial Drama Festival in May and the other ½ goes towards Angel Hair. :)
