HMS at Regional Heritage Fair

Posted: April 26, 2015

Eleven HMS students (Eden John, Matthew Brennan, Jake Tweedie, Tristan Eisnor, Lauren Simmons, Josh O'Neil, Alex Robichaud, Madison Matchett, Bailey Stewart, Shane Watters and Anna Smith) attended the Regional Heritage Fair this past Friday, April 24th at Nelson Rural School.  They attended two workshops; one on Mi'kmaq culture and the other on Beaubears' Island, along with being judged.  They all once again had the pleasure to see New Brunswick's Lieutenant Governor.  She had high praise for all of the projects from HMS.  In the end, HMS brought back two awards.  The New Brunswick St. Croix 2004 Award went to Alex Robichaud's project on "The Acadian Forest".  The Royal Canadian Legion Miramichi Branch #10 Award in Celebration of Canadian Military Heritage went to Josh O'Neil's project on "Canadian Peacekeeping".  All in all, it was a fun and educational day for the students.  They definitely did HMS proud! Photos: http://asd-n.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/asd-n-miramichi-region-heritage-fair-2015
