HMS had 16 students attend the Middle School Track and Field Provincials in Saint John. Highlights included: The grade 8 girls placed 3rd Overall in the meet. Their relay teams captured a 3rd and a 4th place win! Laura Dickinson broke the Middle School provincial record in the 1200m run.She also captured first in the 800m run and second in the 200m hurdles.  Way to go, Laura! Gillian Forrest came in third in the 150m sprint and 5th in the 1200m run. Bailey Black placed 3rd in the 80m hurdles, 5th in the shot put and 5th in the 800m . Darrah Chambers placed 4th in the shot put, 5th in the 80m hurdles and 8th in the 100m sprint. Makayle Whyte placed 6th in the 80m dash, 9th in the 150m dash and 6th in the long jump. The other athletes finished well also and had a great experience attending their first Middle School provincial track and field meet.  At the Hershey Meet in Tracadie on the same night, Kristy Vautour, Kamryn Harris, Katie Avery and Camryn Audet all had excellent results in their runs, softball throw and long jump.  All 5 qualified for the Moncton meet on June 23rd.   Awesome stuff, team Harkins! See photos here: http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/track-and-field-2013
