Harkins hosted various stakeholders on Friday for a Family Violence Awareness presentation for students.  On hand were representatives from the Family Violence Outreach Center, NBCC Student Group "Abuse Busters", the Transition House and the Miramichi Police Force.  All spoke about preventing and identifying abusive relationships.  Students were particularly moved by a candid talk with Dawn Lynch, whose family was victimized by extreme violence.  This presentation tied in well with the culmination of Bullying Awareness Month.  Students went away with an important message:  Violence is not okay.  Tell someone if you are being abused.  Please see the corresponding photogallery:  http://hms.nbed.nb.ca/gallery/violence-awareness-presentation
