December 2012     Dear Santa,      I realize how busy you, the elves, Mrs. Claus, and your 8 reindeer ("oops!", I forgot... 9 including Rudolf!) are right now, but I have a very special request.   Please bring... ******NEW PENCILS****** (a whole bunch), pens, colur crayons, rulers, water bottles, etc. ... to all the wonderful students we have here at Harkins Middle School.  I assure you that most of the HMS students have been nice.  Only a few have been naughty!  But, I'm sure they could still use a few pencils.   Finally, but most importantly, I also want to ask something very big.   Please touch the hearts of every student, their family, HMS staff and administration,... well actually, anyone who works with/for our children and youth and give them the... patience, passion, desire, and wisdom  ...needed to learn, teach, suport, nurture, respect, and LOVE one another.  Ya' I know, we may not always like the things others do, but I want to make sure we still remember to LOVE each other anyway.
