  • Parent/guardian notice has been sent home with very important information regarding the last day of school at HMS and the first day of school at Max Aitken Academy. Please check with your son/ daughter for this notice.
  • Order forms for clothing with our new school logo and colors went home earlier this week ( more information can be found on the main HMS website). All orders and payment must be returned to the school by Friday November 25th, 2016.

Français 6E (Early immersion)

    •  Students MUST be reading each night a book at their level, they will choose a book on Monday and read the same book for 1 week, the next Monday they will exchange their book for a new one at their level. Running records will be done 1-2 per term. 
    • Booklets " Noel et l'hiver" was given out today. Students should be working on this booklet 10-15 minutes each night ( no more then this).
    • Get quiz # 7 spelling signed, and rewrite the words they got wrong 3 times.
    • Study spelling words week #8, and complete 1 sentence per word. Spelling sentences and quiz are due on Monday November 28th , 2016. 
    • Semaine #8- Les mots d'orthographe:

      1. à peu près                 6. garçon

      2. belle                         7. leur

      3. certain                    8. marche

      4. demain                   9. papa

       5. enfin                    10. ici 

      Français 6L (late immersion)

      •  Students MUST be reading each night a book at their level, they will choose a book on Monday's and read the same book for 1 week, the next Monday they will exchange their book for a new one at their level. Running records will be done numerous times per term for this class.

      • Spelling Quiz #9- Study words, quiz is next Monday November 28th, 2016. ****Students are working on writing their sentences individually- They are to be completed for homework and handed in on Monday November 28th, 2016.
      • ***They need to be practising their number, 1-20, 20-50, 50-70 and 70- 100....they must know these inside and out and be able to repeat them orally without mistake.

Français 7E 

  • Study and practice the following verbes ( Présent Indicatif + Passé composé) 1. avoir 2. être 3. aller 4. faire. They will be receving pop quizzes throughout the year....they must know these 4 verbes inside and out!
  •  Students MUST be reading each night a book at their level, they will choose a book on Monday's and read the same book for 1 week, the next Monday they will exchange their book for a new one at their level.  ***Students who have reached level 29/30 have free choice of their book. 

 Français 8E/8L

  • Study and practice the following verbes ( Présent Indicatif + Passé composé) 1. avoir 2. être 3. aller 4. faire. They will be receving pop quizzes throughout the year....they must know these 4 verbes inside and out.
  •  Students MUST be reading each night a book at their level, they will choose a book on Monday's and read the same book for 1 week, the next Monday they will exchange their book for a new one at their level. ****Students who have reched level 29/30 have free choicce of the book they read at night and in class. 
  • Students have chosen their group, debate topic and working on developing arguments for or against their topic. They will debate in front of the class and try and convince the rest of the class to take their side on a particular issue.
