Homework September 14th

Science 8L ·         We reviewed the characteristics of living organisms. ·         Today we did some guided reading from our text to build our science literacy skills.  Students have two worksheets to complete to check understanding. ·         We took some time today to make a simple magnifying glass.   We will start to work with optical microscopes in the near future. ·         Notes and handouts attached below Math 8E1 ·         Today we started our unit 2.   We modelled using “des jetons” how to multiply integers. ·         A review sheet is for homework to review adding and subtracting integers.  This is grade 7 material.   We will go over all these questions in class tomorrow.   This will allow us to tailor the review to the questions students have trouble with in the homework. ·         Our first assignment will be due Friday.   “Récapitation 1” has been handed out.  Students can work on this assignment during class and during student enhancement.  Extra help will be day 3. ·         Class notes posted below Science 7E1 and 7E2 ·         Students copied notes of new terms that they will use in their project. ·         We went over the learning goals of our ecosystem project. ·         Students had time to brainstorm a list of things they know about their animal and a list of things they will look up tomorrow. ·         We are in the computer lab next class to work on the project. ·         Students should start to bring their box and materials to class. ·         Homework: review notes and bring materials to class. Science 8E1 ·         We watched a video about how to investigate to see if an object is living. ·         We wrote notes on the characteristics of living organisms. ·         Students learnt how to use Venn Diagrams to compare two objects and determine if they are living. ·         Homework: go over notes and write a concluding statement for your Venn diagram.
